10 Weeks

Isa is growing up fast. Our conversations via eye contact, smiles, and polysyllabic coos, goos and ooos continue and go more in depth. She is also getting very curious about her surroundings, examining photos, paintings, and most anything of general visual interest. She attended her first art opening Friday night. Bob Crystal, a local potter, was displaying new wall pieces at the Town Hall Theater (Tiffany's company, Big APE, is the Dance Company in Residence at Town Hall). Isa mostly slept in the Bjorn carrier on my chest though she did wake up and looked mesmerized by a couple of the pieces.

To answer the #1 question (that we have thankfully stopped hearing as often), she has been sleeping for 8 hour stints lately, often from 11 to 7. She is also doing baby push-ups, getting strong and can hold her head up most of the time. She has been a fan of playing airplane and flying laps around the house. And for all of us who were around in the 70's, airplane has recently morphed into "baby jet pack".

As adults, at this point we're attempting to figure out how to get back into a working life along with the new family life. Tiffany goes back to teaching in early February, but is in the studio rehearsing and choreographing for several upcoming performances. I have moved my studio home and have started making pots for some shows in the spring as well as teaching a winter term class for the college. Needless to say, progress is slow but sure and we're getting better at scheduling our time so one of us can spend time with Isa while the other has a couple hours to work.

Happy new year,
Marty
